This game is about the struggle for power and influence in cities by the competing guilds of the age. Players represent one city colour & have a set of tiles in 3 shapes in your colour and a set of cards for each city plus 4 action cards. You play a card and place a tile either from your set or from the church or neutral sets. The starting player also first draws a card from a central deck which effectively gives them an extra move. Tiles of the same colour cannot touch and the church tiles allow cities to expand.
When a city is completed, it is scored. The colour with the most tiles gets the 1st score, the second colour gets half that, the next gets 4 points and the fourth colour gets 2 pts. Therefore it is possible for the neutral colour to score more points than players. The score is a total of the tiles in the city, plus one for each church, plus one for each cathedral place.
The action cards let you pick up your discards, place a tile to be fixed later, and go first twice (which are discarded). The draw deck cards can be held to score extra points at the end.
At first the game seems pedestrian, but within a few turns the possibilities become more obvious. Judicious use of the pick-up and turn order cards make a big difference. Not spreading too widely and using the neutral tiles to devalue other cities also matters.
An interesting placement game that the designer Wolfgang Panning took 2 1/2 years to complete. The choice of Flanders mattered to him because the theme is of city guilds, such as Weavers, who fought to control the cities.

The box is nicely wrapped up with bubble wrap protection,and fast shipping with in next day.
The tree in Everdell is incomplete. The two base pieces were not in the box.
Card looks good! Came in one of the harder plastic sleeves so that it stayed safe in transit which is nice.

Great Mystery Box!!!! I got three Charizards .. got the golden charizard and the full art from the ETB Phantasmal Flames and the Rainbow Charizard from one Brilliant Stars (one pack magic) and other pokemon product that I got was worth it!!! Second order from Poke Juex. Cards were shipped quickly just like the first time. Everything was well packed just like last time.
Overall, it's not a bad product, but it doesn't feel like the quality or thought is there for the price DS wants to charge. At the end of the day it's a simple binder in a cardboard box. The slipcase is good enough in a vacuum, but because it's just thick cardboard it's very likely to be damaged in transit, and will get dents and deformations from regular use if you aren't extremely careful. Which is difficult, by the way, because the (manufacturer recommended) pages and hard interior cover will stick out of the bottom of the binder when held upright and knock into the slipcase as you try to slide it back in. It's also generally not a smooth experience to use - there's too much friction when sliding the binder in and out of the slipcase, and the pages will get caught all the time when you try to flip through. There's no mechanism to hold pages in place like in the smaller sizes, so they will flop around when upright, and they also bend against the metal clasp beneath the rings when laid flat. I was also shocked to find there's no mechanism/button to open the rings, you just have to pull them apart by hand. This is the kind of functionality I can get from binders at my local dollar store, why is something so basic a problem to include in a product 20 times more expensive? I admit these criticisms might seem a little nitpicky, but this is a premium-priced product (remember, no pages included, so the price you pay is for a basic, empty binder in a cardboard box) without any sign of premium quality. Compare this with e.g. the Gamegenic Almanac released alongside MtG's Secrets of Strixhaven (pages included, by the way!) and the difference in quality is stark for not much difference in price. If it came with the pages or was 30-50% of the price this would be a 5 star review for an affordable option with some minor cut corners, but considering the MSRP DS decided on this ends up being an overpriced and mediocre pick in a market full of better options.
