The Marine Corps makes up the largest part of the UNSC's military strength on land, equipped for a broad spectrum of operations.

UNSC Marines are organised into fireteams, led on the ground by experienced Corporals, and bolstered by the skills of snipers, medics and communications specialists. In the field, these Marine Corps units may even be accompanied by highly trained super-soldiers from the Spartan program – such as Spartan Tomas Horvath, who plays a key role in the Battle for Zeta Halo.
